This environement study explores the quiet reclamation of man-made surfaces by nature in neglected urban corners. The focus was on capturing authentic material transition zones where asphalt, concrete, soil, and vegetation intersect after years of abandonment. I see this as an exploration into how much detail and organised chaos goes into creating something photoreal in a real-time software. Another focus of mine was lighting, composition and focal length choice. This artwork was inspired by Josh Power’s version he did for Quixel. I have spent a lot of time looking at and appreciating his dedication to detail, and this inevitably ended up inspiring me to take on my own version of this project using Unreal Engine.
Software Used: Unreal Engine 4, Quixel Mixer, Quixel Bridge, Autodesk Maya, DaVinci Resolve Studio
